Two ANJ-licensed operators, examined closely

We publish the licence number, the decision that granted it and the expiry date. Nothing else should be needed to choose.

Safeguards

The French framework, repeated everywhere

A licensed operator applies deposit and stake moderators, verifies identity before any withdrawal and refers users to public support. We check this at every update.

What we check

Regulatory checks come first

Before writing a line about odds, we trace the decision published in the Journal officiel. If the licence number does not match the domain, the review does not ship.

Licence number

Recorded in official format, for example 0060-PS-2023-04-20.

Granting decision

Direct link to the text published in the Journal officiel.

Authorised domain

The operating domain must appear in an ANJ decision.

Actual holder

The licence-holding company, not just the commercial brand.

Bleu Sports Betting is an editorial service. We take no bets, hold no funds and open no accounts. Some outbound links are commercial: see the Disclosure page. Disclosure

How to use this

Three steps, then you decide

1

Verify the licence

Open the ANJ register and find the number we publish. If you cannot find it, do not go further.

2

Strengths, limits and a score per criterion. We also write what does not work.

3

Set your limits first

Deposit and stake caps take two minutes in the account area. Do it before the first stake.

Reference points

Three useful reflexes

Check before opening an account

The public ANJ register lists operators authorised in France along with their customer service contacts. A brand missing from the register is not authorised.

Know your tools

Deposit moderator, stake moderator, self-exclusion and voluntary exclusion are rights, not commercial favours.

Frequently asked

The essentials in ten lines

How do I know whether an operator is authorised in France?
The ANJ maintains a public register of licensed operators, including their customer service contacts. If a brand is absent from it, it is not authorised to offer sports betting in France, whatever its commercial promises. The register is available on anj.fr.
What does a number like 0060-PS-2023-04-20 mean?
It is the licence number issued by the ANJ. The middle block indicates the scope — PS for sports betting — and the end matches the date it was granted. The decision creating it is published in the Journal officiel, so it can be retrieved on Légifrance.
Is a licence valid indefinitely?
No. A licence is granted for five years, renewable and non-transferable. A separate decision is required to add or remove a domain name attached to that licence. That is why we publish both the number and the associated decisions.
Why does the operator ask for identity documents?
Identity verification is a French regulatory obligation imposed before any withdrawal. It confirms that you are of age, checks that you are not on the voluntary exclusion register, and satisfies anti-money-laundering rules. No licensed operator may waive it.
Are sports betting winnings taxable?
For a private bettor in France, winnings are not subject to income tax, because the levy is taken upstream on stakes and borne by the operator. Activity carried out on a habitual and organised basis may fall under a different analysis: speak to a qualified accountant about your situation.
What is a deposit moderator?
It is a cap you set yourself on the amounts deposited over a given period. Every licensed operator must offer it, alongside a stake moderator. Lowering a cap takes effect immediately; raising one is subject to a cooling-off delay imposed by regulation.
